E-Stim Systems and the GDPR
A number of companies are currently panicking with the advent of the new GDPR regulations, we have reviewed all of our practices and data, and have found we actually already comply with 95% of the requirements, but to make everything clear we are providing you with more detail.
What data do we have?
We only have the information that you have directly given us by opening an account, together with an internet IP. This will include any information you gave us when creating an account on our store, so name and address, together with an email address and possibly a telephone number. We use this data to process any orders placed, and to help you maintain the account. (We will use your email address to send you our a password reminder if you ask)
You can see all your data we hold on the ordering system by visiting the “My Account” link on the top right hand corder of any screen on our store (obviously you need to be logged in to see it).
Other Data
If you have had correspondence with our customer support team, then we will record this on our internal customer management system, this allows us to ensure you get the best possible service, without keeping such emails it would be impossible to respond to your questions or to maintain any correspondence over time.
Who has access to my data?
Even within our staff, we restrict data to that data needed to perform a specific task, So the dispatch department only has access to your order details, customer services can see what you ordered and any correspondance, Accounts have access to payment data, but no one has any access to card details.
Payment Data
All of your payment information is dealt with by either SagePay or PayPal, via their secure systems, the only information we are given is the fact you have paid us and we can then release your order.
Passwords
We do not have access to any passwords, the passwords on our systems are encrypted to industry best practice levels but even so we do not recommend you use the same password on any site, nor do we hold any credit card details.
What do we do with it
All of your information is only used to provide you with the service to place and process orders, and to maintain our support system and your lifetime guarantee. If you have asked to join our newsletter, or registered your product then we will have a record of your registration on our mailing list, and we will send out a periodical email with product offers and updates, but this is a list that you can opt out of at any time, by clicking on the link at the bottom of every email.
Do we share information with others?
Generally No. The only information we share is that needed to allow the processing of your orders, or data that we are legally required to provide. So limited information will be shared with payment providers, such as PayPal and SagePay and the delivery company we use to dispatch your order - which will either be DPD, UPS or the Royal Mail.
Can I ask you to delete my data?
Yes, just email us, however if you have placed an order or had any business dealings with us, then UK law requires us to retain business data for a period of 7 years.
Permissions request
GDPR requires us to seek your permission to obtain, record and process your data. This does not require a tick box at every step, but we do try to make your task easier by clearly stating what data we have and howe we are using it with your permission.
By placing an order you are giving us permission to use your details to fulfil that order, as without your permission it would be impossible for us to provide you with that service. By writing a review you are giving us permission to publish it, by joining our mailing list or registering a product you are giving us permission to send you periodic emails.
You can withdraw your permission at any time, just let us know and we do our best to comply.
